The role

Lead the software development and productization of an autonomous fleet of armed UAVs:

  • Target acquisition, tracking and interception – ground and airborne.
  • Fleet management and control.
  • Integration to 3rd party platforms (ATAK, Lattice, etc.)

This is a key role as part of initial hiring and will have critical impact shaping the product and the company trajectory.

Company HQ and operations based between Waco and Austin, TX. Expecting commitment for on-site presence on need basis.

Qualifications

General (all roles):

  • Deep love for America and passion for Wild West System’s mission.
  • Self-starter, capable of performing tasks as an individual as well as working well in a team.
  • Servant-leader mentality, extreme ownership, willing to participate in different and rapidly changing projects in a dynamic environment. Bias for action.
  • ITAR REQUIREMENT: To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. For this role:

  • Required: 5+ years of hands-on experience with software development for autonomous systems in automotive, aerospace, robotics or alike.
  • Preferred: Direct experience with drone swarms, autonomous UAS fleet management, aerial dynamic target acquisition.
